There are extraordinary acupuncture points in the human body. Acupuncture works by intersecting a surface at angles in order to free the flow of qi throughout the body. Indisposition, pain, and illnesses are treated by attempting to remedy systemic or local accumulations or deficiencies of qi. Remedial acupuncture points are the holes that allow entry into channels or meridians. These holes provide gateways to influence, redirect, increase, or decrease the body’s energy (qi) thus correcting many of the imbalances. Many studies and research have been directed at understanding the mechanism of acupuncture. Acupuncture is performed to stimulate the immune system, produce positive effects on circulation, blood pressure, rhythm and stroke, volume of the heart, secretion of the gastric acid, red and white cell production, and even to stimulate the release of a variety of hormones that help the body in responding to injury and stress
